Grading & Assignment Assessment Rubric
Grading
Summit Pacific College uses the 4.3 grading system. The minimum mark for passing and receiving credit in a course is 50%. For those who wish equivalency in other systems, the following equivalencies are convenient:
| A+ | 90-100% | 4.3 grade points |
| A | 85-89% | 4.0 grade points |
| A- | 80-84% | 3.7 grade points |
| B+ | 77-79% | 3.3 grade points |
| B | 73-76% | 3.0 grade points |
| B- | 70-72% | 2.7 grade points |
| C+ | 67-69% | 2.3 grade points |
| C | 63-66% | 2.0 grade points |
| C- | 60-62% | 1.7 grade points |
| D+ | 57-59% | 1.3 grade points |
| D | 53-56% | 1.0 grade points |
| D- | 50-52% | 0.7 grade points |
| F | Below 50% | 0 grade points |

| A+ | Mastery of course content; Superior research; Critical analysis skills with Exceptional writing proficiency; Demonstrates originality and applies concepts. |
| A | High standard of course achievement; Excellent research, analysis and writing ability; Able to critically evaluate concepts. |
| A- | Above average work; Admirable research, writing and achievement of assignment objectives; Limited ability to synthesize and critically evaluate concepts. |
| B | Average work with good core knowledge; Good research and writing, with some assignment objectives achieved. |
| C | Moderate work, Basic coverage of assignment outcomes achieved; Limited comprehension and analysis of major data. |
| D | Below average, lacking major components of assignment requirements; Little evidence of overall course components and concepts. |
| F | Failure to complete assignments; Unsatisfactory attendance and effort. |
| W | A withdrawal is granted only if it occurs after the Add/Drop date. |
