Our Programs
One of the main purposes for Summit’s Distance Education program is to facilitate training for those who are involved in church ministries and do not have the opportunity to relocate to the campus.
Summit offers a variety of options for students who are unable to attend our campus in Abbotsford. We trust that you will find a program that will help you towards your ministry training aspirations, or courses that will address your current interests.
Our program and course offerings are mainly delivered in an online modality through the Canvas System. However, some courses may still be offered with the Correspondence packages that include a study guide and textbook(s) until all courses are transitioned to Canvas.
This program is designed for students who sense God’s call to pastor an existing local church or plant a new one. Successful completion of this program fulfills all of the academic requirements for PAOC Ministerial Credentials (Licensed Minister/Ordained).
The Pastoral Ministries Diploma is for those students called to full-time ministry and desire the minimum formal Bible College education required by the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada for ministerial credentials and eventual ordination (Licensed Minister/Ordained).
The Church Ministries Certificate Program consists of 60 semester hours of required and elective courses. This program is designed to provide students with a concentration of Bible related studies and basic skills and competencies for the sharing of one's faith. The Leadership Certificate fulfills the academic requirements for the PAOC’s Licensed Minister/Ordained credential requirements for mature applicants. * (Individuals should contact their local PAOC District Office to determine if they may qualify as a mature credential applicant.)
